For a 10-inch finished block:
Cut out 2 white (Background) 5 /12 inch X 6 inch pieces.
(Note: if there is no wrong side to your fabric then you may stack the squares and cut but if there is a right side and a wrong side to your background fabric then BE SURE TO LAYER RIGHTS SIDES UP BEFORE CUTTING OUT PATTERN PIECE.)
Using the pattern piece below cut these 2 white blocks in half.
now cut out two 5 1/2 inch X 6 inch colorful pieces.
BE SURE TO LAYER RIGHTS SIDES UP BEFORE CUTTING OUT PATTERN PIECE.
sew them together ironing the seam towards the darker color.
(do not sew like this...)
5 blocks by 8 is a twin, 8 by 8 should fit a queen--I'll let you know I'm working on it now.
I'm in awe of your quilting. I can barely sew on a button! This year at BTC they have a quilt on the DH wall that someone made using old camp t-shirts. The shirts are fun to see, but the most amazing part is the quilting detail around the edges.
They served biscuits and scones this year for breakfast, and I thought of you, wondering if they were your recipes.
